The J Companies were founded by Allan J., David J. and Robert J. Brot, three brothers who grew up in the contracting business, thanks to their father Hy Brot, a successful Brooklyn-based subcontractor who provided his sons with a hands-on view of what building is really all about. Each brother brought unique skills to his initial career choice – Robert entered the lighting supply and distribution business while Allan and David joined their father’s subcontracting firm. All three drew from their varied backgrounds to approach each project with an equal degree of creativity and practicality. When the Brots joined forces to create The J Companies, they vowed to run their business with the same respect for the past and eye toward the future that marked their individual efforts. There is no project undertaken by the firm in which the Brots are not involved. They pride themselves on their personalized approach that emphasizes the value of relationships. And they offer a combination of skills that are individually unique and collectively complementary to our clients and partners. |
